  1. Review titled Last minute cancellation

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 24 July 2024

I have had my appointment scheduled for months due to lack of availability and received multiple text reminders for the appointment. Due to the nature of the appointment, multiple extraction, booked the day off work. Received a call an hour and a half before appointment to be told they would have to cancel and reschedule appointment, which would’nt be available for another 6 weeks! Really disappointed as it took months to get to this point in the first place!

  2. Review titled Sent from 111 emergency appointment

Rated 1 star out of 5

I’d phoned 111 as in serve pain with a cracked tooth they arranged me an appointment here which i went too the first dentist said my tooth was infected and to take antibiotics then he would refer me to a different dentist to get the tooth extracted fast forward two weeks the tooth has been extracted but when the tooth was extracted it knocked a filling out of another tooth and cracked a different tooth so I phoned back as now in even more pain than before the tooth was extracted got an appointment through 111 again to be seen today to be told to stop phoning 111 for appointments and to register with a dentist I explained I’ve been trying for months to get registered with a dentist but the pain is too unbearable to then be told “well go private then” I explained my employment was a zero hour contract and I can’t afford to go private he then did an X-ray and said the new cracked tooth is infected so take these antibiotics I asked if I was going to be referred to get this tooth extracted as it’s cracked and there’s no saving it he said not until I get registered with a dentist and to stop phoning 111 the level of patient care from this service was a zero I’m now left still on a waiting list to get registered with a dentist and to take some antibiotics that is magically going to heal a cracked tooth.

  3. Review titled Dreadful

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Mrs Stansfield - Posted on 10 June 2024

I've been with this dentist for over 30 years. When the Claire Road practice was amalgamated into MyDentist, it went down hill rapidly. The care I've received since MyDentist took over has been nothing like as good as it used to be. Today I am in excruciating pain with an infected tooth and have been trying since Friday to get through. I have been in the call queue now for 3 and half hours. I refuse to hang up because I need urgent dental care. My pain is worsened by having to listen to on hold music on a loop for the last 3 and a half hours. I've been kicked out of the call queue at least 3 times and had to start again. I am currently at number 1 in the call queue which has been the position for the last hour. The phone system is dreadful. I writing this as I am at my wits end. I won't get me an appointment but at least it provides feedback to the practice that their service is not acceptable.

  4. Review titled Absolutely Terrible Company

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Jacqueline Brown - Posted on 26 March 2024

In January this year I had an old filling fall out, and after waiting 4-6 weeks, got an appointment to have it fixed. Yesterday 25/03/2024, it fell out. I immediately tried to call to make another appointment, I was on hold for almost an hour, then eventually resorted to 'leaving a message', but of course no one called back. I finally got through 26/03/2024, and spoke to a woman who gave me an appointment for in six weeks time ! She said (and I quote) you can always get a kit from b and m and do it yourself, until we can get you in !!!! This is 'supposed' to be a civilised western country, not a third world country ! Then, after I ask if I would be expected to pay for the replacement filling, they said yes, as the original filling that fell out was an old one, (from when British dentists took pride in their work !) and the one from January was a 'temporary' filling ! I did not (and would not) harangue the receptionist as she only works there - but I feel its a disgrace that this is standard practice by dentists, who are basically getting away with (in my view) unacceptable behaviour. The only reason this keeps happening is because the government is letting them - appalling. Oh but just a sec, they do need you to hang on so they can sell you their whiter smile ads !

  6. Review titled 0/10

Rated 1 star out of 5

I would like to share my experiences with a dental clinic that unfortunately left much to be desired. Approximately 10 months ago, I visited this facility due to pain in my teeth and jaw on the right side. Despite paying a fee of £89, I did not receive a specific diagnosis or treatment, which was surprising and extremely disappointing. The pain persisted, leading me to schedule another appointment, once again paying £89. Unfortunately, this visit also did not yield results in terms of diagnosis or treatment. Additionally, I did not receive a referral for further diagnostics, further intensifying my disappointment. In the meantime, an appointment for my daughter was canceled. It appears that this was not a random occurrence, especially considering my previous attempts to confront the doctor who left me without treatment and diagnosis. Faced with the ineffectiveness of the treatment at this clinic, I opted for a consultation elsewhere. There, a significant inflammatory condition in my oral cavity, previously ignored, was discovered. Furthermore, the cause of my pain turned out to be wisdom teeth, something that could have been easily diagnosed earlier. Attempts to address the issue with the doctor from the Dental Clinic were met with a refusal to engage in a conversation. There were also no attempts to rectify the situation or refund the costs for ineffective "treatment." For these reasons, I cannot recommend this clinic. The experience was not only financially burdensome but also highly frustrating and unprofessional.
